Agartala, May 6, 2020:

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has announced that 22 more from the 138th battallion have tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the state's tally to 64.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has asked for a detailed report as to how the BSF Jawans of the 138th Battalion are falling prey to the novel coronavirus within a stipulated period of seven days, a source said.

The source said, “Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has taken up the issue of COVID spread among the BSF Jawans with IG BSF Tripura Frontier specifically after numbers of infected cases started increasing among the BSF Jawans."

It may be mentioned here that the BSF had ordered an internal inquiry pertaining to the matter soon after 27 BSF personnel including family members were found to be positive to the COVID-19 in last two days.
