Woman alleges CPI(M) candidate tried to molest her

Guwahati, February 22, 2018:

A woman has complained to the police that the CPI-M candidate of Takarjala in the recent assembly poll in Tripura had tried to molest her at her home in Sipahijala district, about 35 km from Agartala, along with another person.

The CPI-M candidate Ramendra Debbarma said it was framed up case aimed to malign his image. According to the FIR, two persons including Debbarma tried to molest the woman at her house at Amtali when she was sleeping and left when she raised an alarm. The investigation into the case is on.

Elections to the 60-member Tripura assembly was held on February 18 and the results would be announced on March 3.
