Elaborate security arrangements in place across Tripura for Republic Day 2026: DGP

Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar on Saturday, January 24 said that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across the state to ensure the peaceful celebration of Republic Day 2026.

Addressing the media, the DGP stated that enhanced security deployment will be ensured at all sensitive locations. Adequate police forces will also be stationed at venues where major Republic Day events are scheduled to take place.

“All District Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Officers-in-Charge, and police stations across the state have been put on high alert,” Dhankar said, adding that the entire police department is actively engaged in maintaining law and order during the celebrations.

He further informed that close coordination is being maintained with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and central intelligence agencies. Meetings have already been held with concerned agencies, and a detailed plan of action has been devised to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations.

“Security arrangements have been strengthened across Tripura. We are fully prepared and committed to performing our duties effectively,” the DGP assured.

The police administration has urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity to help maintain peace during the Republic Day celebrations.
