How is Bangladesh government functioning?: Tripura CM amid rising atrocities on minorities
As atrocities against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh continue to rise, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha questioned the functioning of the country's interim government.
Speaking to reporters, CM Saha expressed concern about the deteriorating situation, asking, "How is the government of Bangladesh functioning?"
He strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities against minorities in the country.
Additionally, CM Saha pointed that terrorists who were imprisoned during the tenure of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have now been released, and their whereabouts remain unknown. He linked this to the safety concerns in Tripura, stating, "This is a matter of concern as Tripura shares its borders with Bangladesh."
The chief minister also emphasised that Hindu priests should not be arrested and urged the interim government to ensure the protection of minorities and the general public, so peace can be restored in the country.
He further stated that only a small group of individuals in Bangladesh have a "bad mindset."
"The Indian government is closely monitoring the situation," he added.
Earlier on November 30, a bus en route from Agartala to Kolkata was attacked at Bangladesh's Bishwa Road. Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated that a Shyamoli Paribahan bus was attacked on the Brahmanbaria Bishwa Road in Bangladesh while travelling from Tripura to Kolkata.
On this, CM Manik Saha said that the situation is under control after authorities intervened.
