Tripura among first to pass Jan Vishwas Ordinance 2025: Manik Saha

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on May 31 highlighted the state’s progressive legal reforms during the NER–Stakeholders’ Consultation Program, emphasizing Tripura's proactive role in easing governance and compliance frameworks.

"We are one of the first states to pass the Tripura Jan Vishwas Ordinance 2025, which decriminalises provisions in various state acts and rules while repealing obsolete laws," said the Chief Minister.

Dr. Saha further stated that, under the guidance of the task force on deregulation set up by the Cabinet Secretary, Tripura is actively working to reduce compliance burdens in laws governing local bodies, industrial corporations, and utility service agencies.

The move aligns with the Centre’s broader initiative to promote “Ease of Living” and “Ease of Doing Business” by eliminating outdated regulations and encouraging citizen- and investor-friendly governance in the Northeast.
