As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes 11 years at the helm, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday, June 10, described the period as a “golden era” for India, crediting the government’s focus on inclusive growth, welfare schemes, and national development.
“We are truly fortunate to have a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi,” said Saha. “This is indeed a golden era for India. The way he is steering the country forward, introducing impactful schemes, and uplifting the poor is commendable.”
Highlighting Modi’s push for regional inclusivity, Saha emphasised the unprecedented focus on the Northeast. “No previous leader gave such attention to this region. PM Modi believes that without the development of the Northeast, India cannot progress. This vision will be remembered in golden letters,” he said.
To mark the 11-year milestone, the central government released a detailed e-book chronicling key achievements across sectors since 2014. The document outlines policy actions under 14 broad themes, ranging from infrastructure and healthcare to digital governance and foreign affairs.
The publication credits Modi with bringing a shift in the political and administrative discourse. “The government under Prime Minister Modi has been steadfast in its commitment to creating equity and opportunity for all citizens,” it notes, describing his approach as “Vikasvaad” – politics centred around development.
Among the prominent successes mentioned is the management of the COVID-19 crisis. “Whether it is in vaccinating the entire eligible population in record time, recording the nation’s highest-ever exports, or providing drinking water to rural households—these achievements stem from setting tough targets and beating them,” the book states.
The digital transformation of public services has also been a highlight, according to the government’s report. It points to the JAM Trinity—Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile—as the backbone of a revamped service delivery mechanism. The integration is said to have eliminated middlemen and facilitated direct benefit transfers to millions.
Environmental leadership was another key area featured. The report cites India’s global stance on climate action and cultural initiatives, including the UN’s recognition of June 21 as International Yoga Day, as signs of growing soft power under Modi’s leadership.
The government also highlighted Operation Sindoor as a symbol of a confident and assertive India on the global stage. “The success of Operation Sindoor demonstrated a new India—resolute, swift, and sovereign in action,” it said.
Modi first assumed office on May 26, 2014. Now serving a third consecutive term, his administration marks this 11-year journey with a focus on what it describes as inclusive, progressive, and sustainable development.
