Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on May 3 lauded the performance of the Panchayati Raj system in the state, calling it exemplary and a model of grassroots governance.
Speaking on recent developments, the Chief Minister noted that Tripura's Panchayats have earned national acclaim, securing seven prestigious awards for their outstanding contribution to rural progress.
"The way the Panchayati Raj system is functioning in Tripura is truly commendable," Saha said, emphasizing that the achievements are a reflection of the state's growing emphasis on rural empowerment. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, stating, "The Prime Minister recognizes that rural development is essential for national progress."
Highlighting the impact of these efforts, the Chief Minister pointed out a significant rise in the number of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Tripura, signaling strengthened economic activities at the grassroots level.
CM Saha asserted that the Panchayats in the state are performing effectively across multiple parameters, contributing meaningfully to the overall development narrative of Tripura.
