"Tripura government backed tribals when others ignored them": CM Manik Saha

Manik Saha on Tuesday, March 3 asserted that his government has taken unprecedented steps for the welfare of tribal communities in the state, claiming that previous regimes had largely ignored their concerns. Emphasising education and youth empowerment as the cornerstones of development, the Chief Minister said that achieving the vision of Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047 would depend on strong governance and an uncompromising focus on learning outcomes.

Addressing a gathering in Agartala, Saha said that “till date, everyone ignored the tribals. Our government has supported them in every way,” underlining his administration’s commitment to inclusive growth and balanced development across communities in Tripura.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the Prime Minister’s annual interaction with students through the nationwide initiative Pariksha Pe Charcha, stating that such engagements help build a strong emotional and motivational connect with young learners. “Prime Minister Modi discusses exams every year. This creates a connection with the children,” Saha said, noting that such initiatives inspire confidence and reduce academic stress among students.

Pointing to India’s demographic dividend, Saha remarked that nearly 65 per cent of the country’s population comprises youth, calling them the nation’s most valuable human resource. “The benchmark of Viksit Bharat 2047 will be achieved only if the state is run properly,” he said, stressing that good governance, transparent administration, and consistent policy implementation are crucial to meeting long-term national goals.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to the education sector, the Chief Minister made it clear that there would be “no compromise on education.” He added that the state administration is collectively working to strengthen academic infrastructure, improve quality standards, and create opportunities that empower young people to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
