Tripura police dig up pistols, magazines from house of accused arms dealer

Tripura Police uncovered a stockpile of firearms during a late-night raid on August 26 at a house near Amtali, on the outskirts of Agartala. Officers recovered four pistols and seven magazines concealed beneath the floor of the residence.

The search was carried out at the home of Dipankar Sen, who is currently in judicial custody in connection with several arms-related cases.

West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak said, “Based on intelligence inputs that arms were stored at his residence, police from Amtali Police Station and SDPO Amtali Parmita Pandey carried out the raid. During the search, we dug inside the house and recovered four pistols and seven magazines hidden beneath the floor.”

Authorities believe the weapons are factory-made, though forensic experts will conduct further examinations to confirm their origin.

Police sources revealed that Sen is implicated in at least seven criminal cases, most of which are linked to illegal firearms.
