Tripura will progress with all communities, but no place for Jihadis from Bangladesh: CM Manik Saha
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday, March 10, asserted that while the state government remains committed to inclusive development and welfare of all communities, it will maintain zero tolerance towards extremist elements, particularly those allegedly infiltrating from neighbouring Bangladesh.
Addressing a gathering in Agartala, the Chief Minister said the government believes in taking every community along the path of development. However, he made it clear that the state will not allow space for individuals involved in extremist or jihadi activities.
“We must take all communities along with us, but no place will be given here to jihadis who have come from Bangladesh,” Saha said, underlining the state’s firm stance on security and law and order.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the various welfare initiatives introduced by the Government of India aimed at uplifting minority communities across the country. According to him, these schemes are designed to ensure equitable development and provide better access to opportunities for marginalized sections.
Echoing similar priorities at the state level, Saha said the Government of Tripura has also introduced its own scheme for minorities to ensure that they receive direct benefits and support. The initiative, he noted, reflects the state government’s commitment to inclusive governance and socio-economic upliftment.
Saha emphasized that development, social harmony and national security must go hand in hand, adding that while the government will continue to support minority welfare and community development, it will remain vigilant against any threat posed by extremist or anti-national elements
