ITANAGAR: A team of Spear Corps extended immediate and critical help to Civil Administration in controlling forest fires near Anini District of Arunachal Pradesh.

 

 The forest fire broke out at Koylabasti in Anini District on February 11 which soon engulfed the surrounding mountain ridges.

The local formation units immediately deployed three response columns in a rapid response to the emerging situation and took immediate control of the situation. It took nearly 11 hours for the Army and local administration to douse the forest fires.

 

The Army's well-coordinated and prompt reaction averted a major tragedy and saved lives and property.

 

Local authorities and civil administration officials lauded the efforts of the Indian Army to avert a major disaster in the area.
