Arunachal Pradesh government transfers 27 senior police officers in a major reshuffle to improve policing. The changes aim to strengthen law enforcement and public safety across the state.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh has ordered a major reshuffle in the state police, transferring and posting 27 senior officers from the IPS and Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) cadres.
According to an official notification issued by the state Home Department, the transfers were ordered by the Governor following a meeting of the Police Establishment Board (PEB).
Senior IPS officer Chinmoy Biswal has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Security/Crime, while Joy Tirkey has been assigned the charge of DIG Headquarters (Additional). IPS officer Mangesh, currently serving in Delhi, will take over as DIG (TCL).
The reshuffle also includes changes in key district postings. Akshat Kausal has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tirap, replacing Aditya Singh, who has been posted as SP of Longding. Shivendu Bhushan, earlier SP (Crime), will take charge as SP of East Kameng.
Among other postings, Sandhya Swamy has been appointed as SP of Kra Daadi, while Pankaj Kumar will serve as SP of Dibang Valley. Swati Singh has been posted as SP of Pakke Kesang, and Tasi Darang will take charge as SP of Tawang. D W Thungon, who was previously SP Tawang, has been transferred as SP of West Kameng.
Further, Achin Garg has been posted as SP (Crime), while Anjitha Chepyala will head SP SIT/Cyber Crime. Dekio Gumja has been appointed as SP of the Special Task Force (STF), and Sepraj Perme will serve as SP of SDRF/Home Guards/Civil Defence.
The reshuffle also includes the appointment of several officers as Commanding Officers of different Indian Reserve Battalions (IRBn) and the Arunachal Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) across the state.
Officials said the transfers aim to streamline police administration and further strengthen the law-and-order machinery in Arunachal Pradesh.
