ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar witnessed huge traffic congestion after capital police started implementing new containment measures on Monday.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar witnessed huge traffic congestion after capital police started implementing new containment measures on Monday.

As per the new SOP coming in force from Monday, all shops and offices are scheduled to be closed at 1:30 pm, and curfew is scheduled to start from 3 pm.

Commuters raised a hue and cry after being stuck in the traffic accompanied by rain.

Citizens who came out for emergency medical cases and some returning back from offices and other work faced inconveniences due the strict containment measures employed by the police department.

Some vehicles were allowed to cross check gates on producing valid passes.

SP on new measures directed by Arunachal govt

Jimmy Chiram, Superintendent of Police, Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) who monitored the implementation of the new measures stated that majority of the people are supportive of the new containment measures.
