The house of former Arunachal Pradesh Minister and PRC advocate Bida Taku has finally come under fire of the protestors of the Government's move to grant PRC status to non-APSTs in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
In a video which has surfaced on social media, the protestors are seen surrounding Taku's house at Niti Vihar in Itanagar and pelting it with stones and bricks. The mob had initially intended to reduce Taku’s private residence to ashes, but due to requests from neighbours, decided to not burn it down.
It is to be mentioned that along with CM Pema Khandu and Deputy CM Chowna Mein, Taku is considered one of the main architects of the PRC Bill as he has shown his support openly for the implementation of the same. The house of Mein was similarly vandalized by protestors and clashes broke out on Sunday between protestors and Arunachal police.
Taku is being considered by many as one of the main ‘villains’ in the move to grant permanent residency status to mainly ST communities of Assam such as Deoris, Sonowal Kacharis, Morans, Adivasis and Mishings.
