Arunachal: COVID-19 induced curfew extended in Itanagar Capital Complex

ITANAGAR: COVID-19-induced curfew in Arunachal Pradesh's Itanagar Capital Complex has been extended from 3 pm to 5 am daily from July 25 until further order during which the movement of vehicles, as well as people, would be banned.

Services related to security, disaster management, and emergency including district administration, health, water, power generation, transmission and distribution services, and telecom services will remain operational.

Workplace and business, commercial establishments, and both government and private offices will remain open till 1.30 pm adhering to COVID-19 protocols, and employees have been asked to work from home after 1.30 pm.

Public visitors/meetings are totally banned in offices. All shops and commercial establishments will remain open till 1.30 pm only. Moreover, entry and exit from the Itanagar Capital Complex are prohibited from 3 pm to 5 am. during curfew time.

Medical emergencies, on the other hand, will be regulated by an e-pass that will be provided on valid grounds with the previous permission of the Competent Authority.

Any person who violates this order will be prosecuted under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act of 2005, as well as legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other applicable legal procedures.

Furthermore, anyone who does not wear a face mask and/or spits in public areas will be fined Rs.500 and Rs.200, respectively.
