‘Artists are guests of Arunachal’: CM Pema Khandu vows justice over alleged attack on Sikkim rapper

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has condemned the alleged attack on Sikkimese rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, popularly known as UNB, and his manager, assuring that justice will be ensured.

The alleged incident took place near Tiwari Gaon in Lower Dibang Valley district while UNB and his team were returning to Roing after performing at the Anini Winter Festival 5.0.

Speaking to reporters, Khandu said artists visiting Arunachal Pradesh to perform are guests of the state and must be treated with respect and provided a safe environment.

He stressed that tourism is a major source of income for Arunachal Pradesh and said visitors to the state should be welcomed in the spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava”.

Khandu said he had already spoken to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) about the incident and assured him that appropriate action would be taken and justice delivered.

Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged attack and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
