Arunachal BJP Mahila Morcha hails PM Modi's Women's Reservation Bill

The Arunachal BJP Mahila Morcha gathered at the BJP head office in Itanagar on September 19 to express their gratitude towards the Modi government for tabling the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament. Kohman lungphi Ngemu, Morcha President, and women leaders praised the government's commitment to promoting women's participation in politics.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the BJP government has demonstrated its dedication to providing more opportunities for women in the political arena. Kohman Langphi Ngemu stated, "The BJP government is actively working for the advancement and empowerment of women, whether it's through financial inclusion or understanding the fundamental needs of women."

She emphasized that women in Arunachal Pradesh and across the country are recognizing the respect and recognition they are receiving from this government. The Women's Reservation Bill, if passed, will be a significant step in acknowledging the role of women in shaping the government's policies and programs.

Dominic Tadar, the spokesperson of BJP Arunachal, expressed his happiness over the introduction of this crucial bill. He affirmed that the BJP government is committed to fulfilling its promise of reserving seats for women in Parliament and legislative assemblies, providing more opportunities for women to lead in government roles.

The Women's Reservation Bill, which seeks to allocate a 33 percent quota for women in both the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies, was introduced in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing special session of Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it a "historic day," urged the Opposition to unanimously pass the bill, which has been pending for nearly three decades.

In his address to the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of this decision in empowering women and opening doors for their active participation in shaping the nation's future.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 60 MLAs in the assembly, with five of them being women, reflecting the need for greater gender representation in politics.
