Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated a series of developmental projects in Dirang on Sunday, November 2 during an official function organized at SSB Dirang, under the supervision of the Commandant, 30 Battalion SSB. The event also featured a Civic Action Programme for the North Eastern Region under the Vibrant Villages initiative, aimed at enhancing welfare and connectivity in remote border areas.
The programme benefitted several villages including Lubrang, Sange, and Sangti, as well as Jyotinagar Government School and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Dirang. Welfare materials such as water purifiers, solar street lights, and sports equipment were distributed to local residents and institutions as part of the initiative.
The event witnessed the participation of representatives from the Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Arunachal Pradesh Police, and district administration, reflecting a strong sense of inter-agency coordination and cooperation towards regional development.
Addressing a gathering of approximately 7,000 people, Chief Minister Khandu highlighted the Vibrant Village Programme’s pivotal role in transforming border regions through improved connectivity, infrastructure, and livelihood opportunities. He commended the SSB’s ongoing efforts in uplifting remote villages and fostering community development.
“The Seema Suraksha Bal has been instrumental not only in safeguarding our borders but also in empowering border communities through welfare initiatives and civic programmes. Their contribution to the state’s grassroots development is truly commendable,” Khandu stated.
