The Arunachal Pradesh Congress launched the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ movement from Kra Daadi district on June 25 as part of the Indian National Congress’s nationwide student outreach campaign aimed at raising concerns over issues affecting students across the country.
The campaign briefing in Kra Daadi was led by Tap Tapum, President of the District Congress Committee (DCC), along with the District President and General Secretary from Tali and Kra Daadi districts.
During the programme, Congress leaders highlighted concerns relating to student welfare and alleged instances of harassment and student suicides linked to candidates who appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The leaders also demanded the resignation of the Union Education Minister, holding the ministry accountable over concerns raised around student issues.
‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ (Students’ Voice) is a nationwide student-centric campaign initiated by the Indian National Congress under the leadership of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
According to party leaders, the movement formally began on June 17, 2026, with the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj Maha Rally’ organised at Dussehra Maidan in Kota, Rajasthan, a major coaching and education hub in the country.
As part of the second phase of the campaign, simultaneous press conferences were held across India on June 25, with 28 Congress leaders addressing media interactions in 28 major cities to expand the outreach of the movement and amplify student-related concerns at the national level.
