Incessant rainfall over the past few days has caused the collapse of a culvert bridge connecting Dipak to Dikalmukh village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Pakke Kessang district, disrupting connectivity in the region.
Dikalmukh, a serene village known for its picturesque landscape, lies within Pakke Kessang, home to the Pakke Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary, a vital hub for biodiversity and hornbill conservation, supported by the indigenous Nyishi tribe.
In light of the situation, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Seijosa issued an advisory warning residents of the risks posed by continuous rainfall. The statement highlighted that the NEC road connecting Seijosa to Pakke Kessang and Lemmi has become increasingly prone to landslides and shooting stones, creating grave threats to human safety.
Authorities confirmed that the concerned department is engaged in clearance and safety measures on the affected stretches. However, persistent inclement weather has severely hampered the restoration process. Residents have been urged to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel until the roads are officially declared safe.
