The three-day-long 2nd Mega Medical Camp for police personnel, from January 16 to 18, is currently underway at the SP Office, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh aiming to prioritise the health and well-being of police personnel of the state, especially those deployed in the Itanagar Capital Region.
The camp offers a range of free medical services, including comprehensive health checkups, lifestyle disease screenings, lab tests, dental, eye, ENT, and cancer screenings, as well as consultations with cardiologists, dietitians, and psychologists.
Services such as CMAAY and ABHA card enrollment, diagnostic procedures, and free medicines are also available.
Speaking to reporters, Superintendent of Police, IPS Rohit Rajbir Singh informed that the medical camp aims to cater to the well being of the police force.
"We expect over 700 registrations this year, compared to 400 last year, along with comprehensive checkups. This is the second edition, featuring compulsory TB testing and cancer screenings, including for breast, cervical, and oral cancer. We are engaging gynecologists for female personnel based on feedback from specialists last year. Additionally, we are processing CMAY and PMAY cards that were pending," he said.
The SP further added, "Our capital police have partnered with both private and government hospitals, including Heema Hospital, RK Mission, TRIHMS, the health department, and all sub-centers, who are all contributing and cooperating in this noble initiative. We are prioritizing personnel from nearby districts as Republic Day approaches, with many forces arriving in the capital. We have also enlisted a dietician to guide our personnel on dietary issues."
