Arunachal Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak denies Chinese incursion reports, announces ground verification

Newly elected unopposed Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Tai Tagak received a warm welcome on his arrival at Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, on Thursday, July 2. Hundreds of BJP workers from various districts, members of the Tai Welfare Society, and representatives of several other organisations greeted him with flowers and garlands.

Speaking to mediapersons after his arrival, Tagak said honesty and transparency would be the guiding principles of his tenure, particularly in the utilisation of the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds. He said his priority would be to ensure that developmental works reach every corner of Arunachal Pradesh in a fair and accountable manner.

Responding to reports of alleged Chinese incursions along the India-China border, Tagak dismissed the claims and said the issue stemmed from differing perceptions of the international boundary and the McMahon Line between India and China.

He said the government would constitute a team after the monsoon to verify the ground situation and assess reports based on geographical mapping and information circulating on social media.

Tagak asserted that the verification exercise would establish the factual position on the ground and reiterated the government's commitment to safeguarding India's territorial integrity. "Not even an inch of Indian land will be allowed to be encroached upon. That is our commitment," he said.
