Arunachal: Roing to host its first national cycling event, 450 riders gear up for 22nd National Mountain Bike Championship

Roing in Arunachal Pradesh is set to make sporting history as it prepares to host the 22nd National Mountain Bike Championship from February 12 to 15, 2026, marking the first time a national-level cycling event will be held in the town. The prestigious championship, scheduled at StoneHill, Roing, will see the participation of nearly 450 national and international riders, placing the district firmly on India’s sporting map.
Calling the event a moment of pride for the region, Vice-President of the Arunachal Cycling Association, Wangdi Dorjee Khrimey, has appealed to the residents of Roing to extend their full cooperation to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the championship. He emphasized that community support would be crucial for managing logistics, hospitality, and overall coordination during the four-day event.
Khrimey noted that the championship would attract competitors and officials from across the country and beyond, offering Roing a rare opportunity to showcase its natural terrain, hospitality, and organizational capability at a national platform. He added that the event is expected to provide a significant boost to local tourism, generate economic activity, and promote adventure sports in the region.
