Arunachal's Nyishi community celebrates 'Boori Boot Yullo' festival

BOORI BOOT Yullo festival is being celebrated by the people of Capital Complex of Arunachal with great enthusiasm.
Boori Boot Yullo being a tribal festival is related to praising and offering to god for bumper harvest, abundance of domestic animals and wellbeing of humankind.”
The pleasurable month of February proudly hosts the festival regarded as Boori Boot, which is principally celebrated by the Nyishi community apart from Nyokum which will be celebrated on 26th February.
Boori Boot Yullo festival essentially involves the assemblage of mammoth fractions of people of virtually all the adjoining areas.
Basically, the Boori Boot is such a festival, which does not lay any sort of stress on cast, creed, age and sex of the participating individuals.
Mega dance also had been performed by the cultural team and priest offered their prayers by following rituals.

The high priest who is known by the name of ‘Nibu’ is the one who is bestowed with the duty of consummating the reverence and slaughtering the wild beasts.
Another facet of Boori Boot is the custom in which the villagers apply ‘etting’ on the bodies of their contemporaries. This merry fiesta continues for a period of three days during which the people enjoy to their heart’s content.

Nyamar karbak Mla cum Advisor to Home minister urged all the youths to value their rich traditions and culture and always respect their parents and elders. He also advised youths to take active part in sports activities and also try to bring medals for the state.
