Walong town in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh was engulfed by a massive fire on the night of February 13, triggering panic among residents and prompting urgent safety measures.
Local MLA and Minister Dasanglu Pul expressed concern over the scale of the blaze and its impact on the region. She called on residents and travellers to exercise extreme caution and strictly follow safety advisories issued by authorities.
Safety of local communities must remain the top priority, Pul said, urging people to avoid any reckless actions that could put lives, property and the surrounding environment at risk.
Describing Walong as a shared natural asset, she appealed to inhabitants to act responsibly and support efforts to contain the damage. She also issued a warning that anyone found deliberately causing harm or attempting to disrupt peace in the area would face strict legal action.
Pul urged citizens to stand together, cooperate with frontline responders and ensure the well-being of residents in Anjaw district and across the state.
Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, while emergency teams continue operations in the affected areas.
