Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on May 25 reacted to the “Cockroach Janta Party” trend circulating on social media, saying the government remains focused on serious work and that it is not necessary to respond to every issue being discussed online.
Speaking to reporters in Dibrugarh, Assam, Rijiju said governance and public service remain the government’s priority.
“We are engaged in serious work. It’s not right to react to everything,” the Union Minister said.
He further stressed that democracy is driven by the people, who elect their representatives through voting.
“Nothing will happen. The people run the country. They cast their votes, elect their representatives and serve the country,” he stated.
Rijiju added that while serious matters receive due attention, commenting on every issue or social media trend is not necessary.
“We pay attention to serious issues, but it’s not necessary to comment on everything,” he said.
His remarks came amid social media discussions surrounding the “Cockroach Janta Party” phrase, which has recently gained traction online.
