The Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2025 continued to captivate audiences on as the hard-hitting play “Past Gaya Tel Lene” delivered a gripping theatrical experience at the International Theatre Festival in Itanagar.
Presented by Roots Itanagar and directed by Randhir Kumar, the production follows a group of struggling artists fighting to preserve their creative identity amid commercial pressures, health challenges, addiction and the threat of eviction. The narrative, rooted in real struggles of artistic communities, highlights their determination, fragility and undying passion for their craft.
The festival director, Riken Ngomle, while speaking to India Today NE, described the evening as “a memorable showcase of imagination and powerful storytelling.” He added that the stage is now set to welcome Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman, whose play will be featured today, adding another high-profile highlight to the ongoing theatre extravaganza.
Cast members of the play expressed gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for organizing such cultural platforms. They noted that international and national theatre collaborations allow local actors to learn from seasoned directors, enhance their skills and pursue broader opportunities in Bollywood and beyond.
The 14-day Arunachal Rang Mahotsav, which concludes on December 6, has continued to draw remarkable footfall despite the ongoing Panchayat and Municipal elections in the state, underscoring the region’s growing enthusiasm for performing arts and creative expression.
