Arunachal Pradesh Governor, K. T. Parnaik, participated in the grand ‘Murti Pran Pratishtha’ Mahotsav at the Shree Ram Darbar and Nav Durga Murti Sthapana ceremony in Itanagar, underscoring the enduring relevance of Sanatan values in shaping social harmony and cultural identity.
The consecration ceremony was held at the Shree Shree Ganga Yurchum Gurupath Shiv Mandir at 6 Kilo Point, Itanagar, and was organised by the Gangda Yurchum Trust on February 24. The Governor, accompanied by the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik, offered prayers and took part in the sacred rituals, marking the formal installation of the deities.
Commending the organisers and the priests from Vrindavan for their dedication, the Governor lauded their efforts in establishing what he termed a “sacred seat of divinity” at the Ram Darbar and Shiv Mandir complex. He described the Murti Pran Pratishtha as a historic and spiritually significant occasion, noting that such milestones strengthen the spiritual fabric of society and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
Reflecting on the deeper significance of the ceremony, Lt Gen Parnaik observed that the sanctity and spiritual aura of the temple complex would enrich the cultural heritage of Sanatan Sanskriti in the region. He emphasised that Sanatan values extend far beyond religious observance, serving as a timeless guide for ethical living, social harmony, customs, traditions, and balanced human relationships.
Expressing confidence in the temple’s future role, the Governor said the site has the potential to evolve into a revered spiritual centre and emerge as a Dham, a sacred seat of devotion that would draw pilgrims and seekers from across the country in the years ahead.
Drawing a meaningful parallel between Sanatan Dharma and the indigenous faith traditions of Arunachal Pradesh, he highlighted their shared reverence for nature, harmony, and coexistence. He remarked that the inclusive and accommodative principles of Sanatan Dharma do not diminish other belief systems; rather, they enrich them while preserving their distinct cultural identities.
The Governor concluded that this shared spiritual ethos mirrors Arunachal Pradesh’s enduring tradition of unity in diversity and mutual respect among its communities.
