Target illegal immigrants, not Muslims: Arunachal Muslim community slams allegations of illegal madrasas

The Capital Jama Masjid PRO and Arunachal Muslim Community representative, Giah Limpeah Sultan, on Thursday, November 13, rebutted claims made by the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organization (APIYO) regarding the alleged presence of illegal madrasas in the state.

Addressing reporters at the Arunachal Press Club, Sultan asserted that the Muslim community in Arunachal Pradesh has always adhered to state laws and maintained peaceful coexistence with indigenous groups.
“The masjid is our heart and a sacred place of worship. Do not target it or drag it into unnecessary controversy,” he said.

Sultan emphasized that the community rejects any attempt to spread misinformation or communal narratives that could disrupt harmony. He urged APIYO and other organizations to differentiate between illegal immigrants and law-abiding Indian Muslims, stating, “Target illegal immigrants, not Muslims.”

Appealing for unity and mutual respect, Sultan reiterated the community’s commitment to maintaining peace and brotherhood in the state.

He called for responsible dialogue and cooperation among all groups to safeguard Arunachal Pradesh’s long-standing tradition of communal harmony.
