2 killed, several injured at NFR tunnel construction site in Chandrapur

CHANDRAPUR: At least 2 laborers were killed and several injured after a landslide buried them while they were building a railway tunnel in Chandrapur in Kamrup (K) district of Assam.

 

The accident reportedly happened all of the sudden and the laborers working on the tunnel were taken unawares, leading to them getting trapped. The accident occurred near the Chandrapur Bazaar located near the police station, reports said.

The deceased have been identified as Insaan Ali (hailing from Mayong in the Morigaon) and Safikul Ali.

 

According to reports, rescue personnel have reached the accident site and are attempting to rescue trapped workers.

 

Although 5 workers have been rescued, many are still believed to trapped within the debris.
