India's 3rd tallest Tri-colour hoisted in Guwahati.

Guwagati, October 2, 2018:

Guwahati on Tuesday, created a record of sorts when Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal hoisted India's 3rd tallest national flag and offered tribute toMahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.

The programme was also attended by Industries Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary,Rajya Sabha member Biswajit Daimary besides several ministers and MLAs.

With a height of 319.5 ft and dimension of 120 x 80 ft, this is the third tallest Tri-colour.

According to official sources, Gandhi Mandap will be developed as a major tourist spot in Guwahati.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly called Bapu, is known as the Father of the Nation. He led the independence movement against the British. The United Nations also celebrates October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence to honour Gandhi’s belief in peace and non-violence.
