The All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) carried out a human chain in support of demanding ST status to the Adivasis, hike of daily wage of Rs.350 for the tea estate labourers across the state,provide land pattas etc.

The human chain protest was organised at Kokrajhar Tea estate main road near Kokrajhar town.

Hundreds of protestors came out to join the protest with banner, placards and demanded early solutions to the issues and demands of the Adivasis.

AASAA slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led state government for failing to work for the welfare and development of the Adivasis. The students’ body also strongly warned to stage strong protest against the BJP party in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.

AASAA leader Salim Minj while participating in the protest demonstration flayed on the BJP led state government for failing to grant ST status to the Adivashis. He stated that BJP led state government is cheat. He said that AASAA and Adivasis will step against the BJP party in days to come.
