Guwahati, March 13, 2019:

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora on Wednesday criticized the Asom Gana Parishad’s (AGP) decision of reuniting with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to media, the APCC president said that the AGP’s self-proclaimed love for ‘jati’, ‘mati’ and ‘bheti’ is all a drama. Bora further added: “AGP leaders’ resignation from the Assam government opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill was nothing more than a political drama.”

Bora added, “We have already mentioned in the past that AGP will move back into alliance with the BJP before the elections. AGP is an anti-Assamese party and they are not with the people of Assam.”
