Addressing the media, AASPOWA secretary Prahlad Das complained, “We have been demanding job permanency for the SPOs working in the state for a long time. Our fellow workers have lost lives during duty, their families are yet to receive any Ex Gratia from the government.”

“We have been staging a protest in unique ways like eye donation camps and providing clothes to roadside beggars, but the Government has not been paying any attention to our demands,” he added.

It is to be mentioned that at present, 850 SPOs are working for the state.
