Guwahati: In a significant internal development for the Congress in the state, Angkita Dutta has been promoted as the president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
Dutta who was earlier the vice-president of the organisation was promoted as the president on Thursday. She will be taking the charge as president of the Assam Youth Congress with immediate effect replacing Kamrul Islam Choudhury.
Angkita Dutta is the daughter of senior Congress leader and former APCC president Anjan Dutta who passed away in 2016.
She holds a PhD, Post Graduation Diploma in Human Rights from Indian Institute of Human Rights, LLB from Campus Law Centre Faculty of Law Delhi University.
