Asaam: Toll plaza set on fire over appointment of non-Assamese as 'Collector'

GUWAHATI: The Madanpur Toll plaza in Assam's Baihata Chariali on Friday was set on fire by unidentified youths. As per sources, A tensed situation prevailed at Madanpur Toll plaza over a toll collector's appointment at the toll gate.

In a situation that prevailed, a group of unidentified youths have vandalized the toll gate and later set the toll gate on fire due to the appointment of the toll gate tax collection personnel from outside Assam.

Reportedly, The group of youths also shouted slogans demanding the revocation ofthe appointment of the tax collector.

It may be mentioned that the police officials didn't reach the spot for a very long time.
