Assam reported a total of 88 COVID-19 cases on June 25nd morning, 2020 taking the state’s total to 6370. Of the 6370 cases, 2400 are active cases while 3958 have been cured and discharged and nine died due to the infection in the state so far. The 88 cases are from 23 Kamrup (M), 20 Sonitpur, 10 Tinsukia, 8 Baksa, 7 Karimganj, 5 Dibrugarh, 4 Dhubri, 3 Kokrajhar, 3 Kamrup(R), 2 Bsiwanath, 2 Nalbari,1 Dhemaji.
The cases were however detected on 24th June but were only reported on 25th. Thus, 24th June ended with 314 cases.
Informing this, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted:
Assam has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020. It recorded 102 cases on June 19th.

Assam has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Northeast India followed by Tripura.

India recorded 418 deaths and the highest single-day spike of 16,922 new Covid19 positive cases reported in India in the last 24 hours. Positive cases in India stand at 4,73,105 including 1,86,514 active cases, 2,71,697 cured/discharged/migrated & 14,894 deaths. 75,60,782 samples tested till 24th June. 2,07,871 samples tested in the last 24 hours: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 6 thousand deaths. It has recorded 142900 corona cases with 73792 cured, 6739 deaths, and 62369 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 70390 cases with 41437 cured, 2365 deaths, and 26588 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 67468 positive cases with 37763 cured, 866 deaths 28839 active cases. Gujarat with 28943 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 21088 have been cured, 1735 deaths, and 6120 active cases.
