ASSAM: CENTRES TO ESTABLISH POLICE-PUBLIC-FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP

17 July 2018:

A reception centre at Panbazar police station in Guwahati was inaugurated by Assam’s Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia on Tuesday. According to reports, five more such centres will be opened in different police stations of the city.

Speaking to InsideNe, Pranjal Baruah, officer-in-charge of Panbazar PS, informed that AK Sinha Kashya, ADGP; Commissioner of Police Hiren Ch. Nath; Joint Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah along with the Deputy Commissioner of Police were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Baruah said: “The centre has been set up to receive the complaints of the public. Also, it will act as a directory centre to the procedure of registering any complaints or filing case or other procedures that common people are unaware of. This centre is basically set up to establish a police-public-friendly relationship in the region”.
