Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) can play a major role in boosting agriculture.

"I urge it to set up a nano urea plant in Assam & look into fertiliser shortage issue, besides taking initiatives to streamline fertiliser distribution for smooth & timely supply of urea & other fertilisers to our farmers", he added.

He congratulated the cooperative on its innovative endeavours and hoped that it would continue with its impressive performance in the future too.

Earlier in May, IFFCO introduced the world's first Nano Urea Liquid for farmers across the world.

It was introduced in its 50th annual general body meeting held in the online-offline mode in India, as stated in an official notification issued by IFFCO.

Several states across the country including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana etc. are making use of nano urea as it holds great promise for application in plant nourishment because of the size-dependent qualities, high surface-volume ratio, and unique properties.
