Assam CM reviews Mines and Minerals Department, focuses on sustainable growth

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 16 reviewed the functioning of the state’s Mines and Minerals Department, assessing its overall performance, revenue roadmap and progress of key reforms in the mining sector.

During the review meeting, discussions were held on sustainable resource management, mine auctions and the exploration of critical and rare earth minerals aimed at strengthening Assam’s long-term economic growth.

The meeting also focused on strategies to improve efficiency in the sector while ensuring environmentally sustainable utilisation of mineral resources across the state.
