DIMA HASAO: Suspected cadres of Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) on Tuesday assaulted villagers in Langting area of North Cachar Hills

According to reports, the DNLA cadre took some of the villagers to a camp in Maibang and thrashed two of the villagers to death.

The two villagers have been identified as Ramsen Langthasa and Kuton Goswami.

Nine people were seriously injured. The injured persons were Abhinas Thaosen (22), Ramesh Hagjer (38,) Mondesh Langthasa (40), Raju Ardao (17), Nairingdao Bathari (19), Jamuna Singh Hasnu (26).

The injured were shifted to Haflong Civil Hospital. The police arrested five DNLA cadres and are kept under police custody.
