GOLAGHAT: Forest Personal at Miripathar under Bokial Beat today rescued an elephant calf in Assam’s Golaghat district

The two-and-a-half-month old elephant calf was rescued by Forest personnel from Miripathar village after locals informed the authorities.

The baby elephant wandered around after its lactating mother was electrocuted in an incident that took place at Dholagaon Pathar on Sunday.

"The two and a half months old elephant calf was rescued by Forest personnel this morning. As it was weak, it was shifted to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) at Panbari for treatment and rehabilitation," said Divisional Forest Officer, Golaghat, SK Thakuria.
