The Assam government has taken the decision to enhance the ration allowance paid to the Assam Forest Protection personnel.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has taken the decision to enhance the ration allowance paid to the Assam Forest Protection personnel.

The announcement was made in an official order issued by the Environment and Forest department of the state.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the allowance has been raised from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000 per month with effect from June.

" “Forest guards play a key role in ensuring animal safety. During flood preparations review at Kaziranga, a decision was taken to increase their ration allowance. Happy to share that ration allowance has been raised from Rs 1200 to Rs 2000 per month, at par with police personnel", said the Chief Minister.

The decision was prompted by the directives discussed at a flood preparations review meeting at Kaziranga, which further informed the Chief Minister.
