A National Democratic Front of Bodoland (S) cadre was apprehended during a joint operation by army and police at Runikhata in Chirang district of Assam.
Runikhata Police of Chirang district, with the assistance of 5th Garhwal Rifles of the army, launched an operation earlier today in Dadgiri area which falls under the Runikhata Police Station.
The joint forces apprehended an NDFB (S) linkman, namely Laben Muchahary, 28 years, a resident of Dakhin Bongaon in Runikhata.

One mobile handset with a Bhutanese SIM card and cash amounting to Rs. 9990 suspected to be extortion money collected as per instruction of an NDFB (S) cadre called Bodosa were recovered from his possession. Muchahary has been taken to the police station for further interrogation and follow up action.
In another incident, the local authorities in Lakhimpur district in Assam seized fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 denominations, with a face value of Rs 7 lakh.

The police also arrested three persons namely – Moinuddin, Mohidul Islam and Sahidul Islam, and seized six mobile phone sets and a Maruti Alto car from their possession.
A case has been registered against the three suspects at the Lakhimpur Police Station.
