Assam shot-putter Thunlai Narzary, who hails from Gilaguri Village in Kokrajhar and is employed as a sipahi under Assam police, has won gold in the 67th All India Police Athletics Championship held at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. 33 defence teams from the different corners of the country participated in the meet, which was held from 10th to 14th December.
Narzary’s performance has earned her a spot at the World Police meet to be held in 2019 in China. Narzary, who participated with the Assam team, is currently posted with the 10 Assam Police Batallion.
