Assam: Three suspected Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Kherapara for illegal entry

Three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Kherapara Outpost yesterday, August 25 afternoon at 1:00 PM while travelling in a bus bearing registration number ML08D 8387.

    Three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the Kherapara Outpost yesterday, August 25 afternoon at 1:00 PM while travelling in a bus bearing registration number ML08D 8387.

    The arrested individuals have been identified as:

    Sumi Rani Das, 27, daughter of Khusilal Das, resident of Jarolia Derai, Chandpur 3040, Sanamganj, P.S: Derai, District Sylhet, Bangladesh

    Ali Akbar, 25, son of Nasurudin Gawladar, resident of Morisbhunia, P.S: Potuakhali, District Potuakhali, Bangladesh

    Arif Sikdar, 22, son of Salim Sikdar, resident of Kalibari, P.S: Potuakhali, District Potuakhali, Bangladesh

    During the search, authorities recovered three mobile phones, Bangladesh passports, and Bangladesh national identity cards from their possession.

    Preliminary investigations revealed that the trio had illegally crossed into India through the Indo-Bangladesh border yesterday, August 25 morning, with the intention of travelling to Tamil Nadu for employment.

    A case has been registered under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act at Dalu Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
