The state of Assam is observing a 'black day' today after the dastardly attack by terror outfit Jaish-e- Mohammed where a son of Assam, Maneshwar Basumatary, was martyred.

Following the incident, the traders in the state have shut down their shops for the day to express their grief and condolences for the martyred soldier.

It may be mentioned that on February 14, 42 CRPF jawans were martyred at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. The toll for death has mounted to 49 as of Friday as wounded paramilitary men succumbed to their injuries at the Indian army’s 92 Base Hospital in Badamibagh, Srinagar.
