GUWAHATI: There is a new twist that seemed to be taking place between the Bodoland People's Front and the Congress-led grand-alliance as no form of amicability could be seen between the two since the assembly polls result was declared on May 2.
BPF, which has declared itself a major part of grand-alliance, could be seen taking no interest at all after BJP defeated the grand-alliance in assembly elections.
When the grand-alliance called for an all-party press conference today in Guwahati no representative from the BPF took part in that.

On being asked about the same, grand-alliance said that BPF could not reach Guwahati due to underlying restrictions on inter-district movement.
"We have invited them to the press conference but maybe due to ongoing restriction on the inter-district movement they could not reach," said grand-alliance leaders.
The justification came off as an utter excuse as BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma yesterday in Guwahati with other party members. Grand-alliance on the other hand issued a notice regarding the press meet on Friday evening itself.
Another fact that raising question about a possible rift between the two is that the Congress has constituted two committees recently to take political stock of two constituencies Gossaigaon and Tamulpur as a preparation for the upcoming bypolls, from where BPF candidates were fieled as a part of grand-alliance in last assembly polls.
At a time when Congress is being unable to retain its own old brigades and the rumors of two more MLAs leaving the party any sooner going around, after Rupjyoti Kurmi, a possible rift between the party and its ally cannot be ignored.
