After months of speculation regarding which Constituency Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will represent, insiders have revealed that the Minister will contest the election from the Tezpur Constituency.
But Himanta Biswa’s nomination has not been without its share of controversies. When news of his possible nomination reached present Tezpur MP R.P. Sharma, the former BJP leader showed a hint of rebellion against the saffron party, even going so far as to threatening quit.
InsideNE has tried to reach out to the present Tezpur MP RP Sharma to ask him about this latest development, but he was unavailable for comment.
Meanwhile, the BJP party has resolved to let Himanta Biswa Sarma contest from whichever Constituency he pleases.
