CHAPAR: A former Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was critically injured in a road accident in Assam's Dhubri district today.

The accident took place this morning after a speeding car collided with a cycle at the 16th National Highway in Chapar.

The Jawan, identified as Bharatchandra Ray (55), is a resident of Nidani village in Dhubri.

According to sources, the Swift Dzire bearing the registration number AS 01AY2575 was heading towards Dhubri town when it met with the accident.

Talking to the media, a local has confirmed that Ray was in a cycle when the car coming from the opposite direction hit him.
